Chandeliers and Boutonnieres (it rhymes)

I always think of things to say or write at the most inconvenient times--like at work, or walking or driving to work. And I have yet to figure out how to post remotely....so i forget. And now it’s late and i’m caught up on the Bachelorette (next week erica??) and my book is crying out to be read (Till We Have Faces--i’m reading it for the second time).
Here are some photos of the projects I got to work on last weekend. I loved doing it and making these pieces. I felt like I got to be more creative in this wedding than most (thanks for the freedom C+H!). The main pieces were the chandelier and the boutonnieres. Neither of the two I can accurately spell without spell check. Luckily, Erica Sergio documented these for me!
Boutonnieres:
The flowers (which sometimes looked more like shells, which i dig), are made of Balsa Wood and pretty much feel like styrofoam. I ordered them off of saveoncrafts (which I later found out is a website run by Beverlys--yet has WAY better stuff than either beverlys online store or their real store. just sayin. get with it bevs.) The rest of the elements were things I found out in front of my
office and weeds that grow along my drive home (Heidi and I pulled over quite a few times to try and find the ones i was looking for--which I affectionately called “dingle dangles”) Anyway, these boutonnieres will never die and I think they ended up being really fun. Let me know if you want to buy some from me. I’m startin the biz.
Chandelier:
From the get-go, Hannah and I talked about a fun chandelier being present at the wedding. With the wedding being in an orchard/farm it was perfect to keep with the “making old things new” theme and create something fun. Hannah found a wonderful wagon wheel (an element that popped up throughout the day...and these beautiful antique blue ball jars. Man--i love the blue jars and it was hard giving them up. This was super easy to construct but turned out to be VERY heavy and could not be set down. My neighbors came outside as I was transporting it because they thought someone was rummaging through the recycling bins. I am a traveling recycling center. This piece hung above the bar and got fun as day turned to night.
